LIGO is easy to apply,
maintain and repair, making it ideal for DIY.
Preparation:
(1) If the roof has remnants of previous
coatings, tar-paper, etc.,
remove all sections which come off easily.
(2) If there are large
bubbles in the old coating, use a sharp knife to
remove them.
(3) Ensure that the roof is clean and dry (sweep
clean using a non-shedding broom).
(4) Fill any cracks or seams in the roof using an
Acrylic sealant.
Application:
(1) Pour red LIGO onto the roof using a rubber
squeegee to evenly
spread approximately 1 gal. / 66 sq. feet (a 4.5
gal. pail typically
covers300 sq. feet).
(2) Allow 3-6 hours to dry (Depending on the
temperature).
(3) Apply white LIGO in the same fashion, for a
total usage
(both coats) of approximately 1 gal. / 33 sq. feet
Pink or reddish
patches mean that the coverage is not thick enough.
(4) While applying both coats, use a brush to
apply LIGO to any
vertical surfaces contacting the roof (to a height
of at least six inches).
(5) Allow 24 hours for final drying.
